How can I make my small entryway space look inviting?

Question

I have a small wall in my entryway and my front door opens right onto it. I'd love to put a small shelf and a small mirror on that wall without the front door hitting it when it opens. Any ideas?

I have he same problem, I am in the process of painting it a nice bright green and doing the closet door in white, this makes appear larger, I found this great idea for making a frame collage, another idea may to get a small floating shelf I would like to see a pic of your hallway, I will take one of mine and post it, also I will find the link for the frame collage and post it.

You might consider adding a niche on that wall. They can usually be recessed between your wall studs. You can make it large enough to be a shelf to catch keys and mail and tall enough to accommodate a mirror or piece of art. If you have a power source on that wall, you can ask an electrician to add an outlet to create a charging station or add a mini-lamp.

We have the same problem, and I am using a large piece of artwork hung so that the center of it is at eye level. Over it I have a sign that has a welcoming quote. 
 Under it I have a board with 5 old doorknobs mounted on it, that we use to hold the jackets or purses of visitors. You could also have a flattish hanging basket to hold keys etc..
