Find Serenity NOW with a Water Garden and Patio

Lentzcaping designed an outdoor area for a customer who needed to escape the daily grind. When designing a waterscape, Lentzcaping listens to what the homeowner envisions and takes that image to create an area that flows seamlessly with the given space, which compliments the existing architecture, yet provides a functional extension to the home where family members can sit back and enjoy the lifestyle investment they made.

You do beautiful work Lentzcaping! I really like the large rock you used to create the waterfalls. I could hang out all day next to the pond. Thanks for sharing.

I love how naturalistic this looks. I'm not such a fan of boulders where there would never be boulders in nature, but because of the natural woodlands in the background, this feels "right."

Thank you for your comments. The wooded backyard made the perfect setting for a pond with falls and patio. Yes, the boulders do work well. In our area, Southeastern Pennsylvania, it is common to find triassic diabase boulders in wooded lots from Pennsylvania through Central New Jersey. The "Diabase belt", is a region that extends from NJ to central PA. This rock type offers smooth slabs, micro crimps, and unique sculpted boulders with unlimited shapes and sizes.

Well Lentzcaping..............it would seem you set up shop in the right area!! We don't have anything like that here, with the exception of some sandstone. Love those slabs micro crimps and sculpted boulders!!

Thanks Becky! Of course, the larger boulders are not "everywhere" but they are quite the unusual feature locally, particularly near Lake Nockamixon, between Doylestown and Quakertown, PA. Apparently, Southeastern PA was part of the section where two continental plates collided during the Paleozoic Era, the North America Plate with the African Plate. These plates began to separate during the late Triassic and early Jurassic, which led to the formation of the Atlantic Ocean. The shifting ...»
plates left our area with all the different kinds of metamorphic and igneous rock we like to build with now! Apparently, it was very close that Philadelphia and Lancaster would have been a part of Africa if things did not shift the way they did, leaving Harrisburg and Reading PA as seaports!
