Furniture Changes in the Foyer for Fall

The 2 Seasons
by The 2 Seasons
When it was time to decorate our foyer for fall, I decided it was also the perfect time to make a few changes in the furniture. We removed a bench that had been there for over a year and replaced it with a marble-topped dresser that will give me a chance to create some table-top seasonal vignettes.
Since we have a Carrara marble countertop in our kitchen and marble floors in all of our bathrooms, the marble on this dresser ties in nicely with the rest of the house.
Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday, and so this rattan cornucopia that we have owned for a while is the perfect vessel for the fall colors. I filled it with packing paper before tossing in some gourds, mini-pumpkins, a pinecone, antlers and even a strand of pearls.
I also added this antique lamp that was in my grandmother's house when I was a little girl. Don't worry! It has been rewired!!!
I always like to use a bundle of wheat in our fall decor.
The plates that were already on the wall over the bench match the fall colors of the vignette and add a bright touch to the wall.
The mirror is a purchase I made at the Habitat store years and years ago. I painted it and added the medallion. You can see our navy front door in the mirror's reflection.
This rug we bought in Istanbul last year still works great in here. To see more of this and other decorating and DIY, go to our blog:L
