Family Room Fireplace

Ok our latest project is taking the brick off the bottom of the fireplace then pull the rug up and lay down new floor. We will lay tile down in front of the fireplace. I brought a hammer drill. Any suggestions? So far I have taken off one brick, Lol.

Becky asks a good question as well. The brick surround will definitely be affected by what you are doing, so plan ahead! You may also encounter cement under the brick hearth which could need patching prior to installing a new hearth floor.
