Can you paint a floor or countertops with acrylic paint?

There are  lots of posts on this subject..i have painted countertops myself. It is easy affordable and works. Especially if down the road you are going for a new countertop and just want to wait, make do for now. You don't  have to buy a 'kit 'either, we used primer after cleaning the counter well and sanding a little. then 2-3 coats of paint, we used latex,then2-4 coats of polyurethane.  This was in th e bathroom and kitchen and it held up very very well.

A relative of mine had a professional paint hers after her old surface was ruined when her plug-in oil air freshener spilled and ruined her laminate. The painted surface only lasted a few months. After paying for the painting, then having to replace the counter tops so soon, it hardly seemed worth it to me.
