Quick, easy DIY fall craft - yarn pumpkins

I haven't had much time to prepare for fall yet (where'd summer go?) but this project was a super easy and fast way to add a little festivity to the dining room table.

Isn't it crazy how fast fall creeps up on you? It's 85 degress today, but I'm already making roasts and acorn squashes:) Love the yarn pumpkins, I'm a sucker for easy, can't screw-it-up crafts!

It did sneak up on me, Jessica! My entire summer has been renovating an apartment (still working on it). I'm trying to adjust to the nights in the 40s and days in the 80s, not to mention the shorter days. Just.not.ready.yet. Need another week at least. haha! I bet it smells heavenly at your house today! Yum!

These are just adorable Roeshel! Simply adorable!

Summer drug on for me it was so darn hot and dry. We've had a day or two that hasn't been too hot this past week. Yesterday it was 95. Today the high should be 74. The sun is shining and there's thunder. I doubt it'll rain though.

Ha! Just took time to check out the blog post. I love your "Rated #1 Fall craft by cats." I bet it is! As you said though your darling kitty will more likely help you take them apart than put them together. Nice your squirrels helped though.

Thanks, ladies! Becky - hope you got some rain! Sounds like you had a hot summer. Send it this way...I'm hanging on to it all month long. And aren't those squirrel nibbled pinecones hilarious?

You're welcome Roeshel. We did get a little rain. Not much. Enough to get the inside of the boat wet that we'd left the cover off so it could dry and then forgot to put back on. At least it's not lake water like we got the second time we went out and forgot to put the plug in.

And yes, those nibble pine cones are funny. I had no clue squirrels did that. We have loads of pinecones on our land, but no squirrels. They're city dwellers and we live way out in the country.

LOL, Becky! The squirrels are city dwellers there? So strange! Glad you got a little rain (although not about the wet boat...and oh no! No plug?! I bet that only happens 1 time.). Have a great weekend! :)

Thanks Roeshel. I hope you have a great weekend too.

Since we moved out here in the middle of farmland, almost nine years now, I've not seen one squirrel. I see them in Omaha and Blair, but not out here in the country. We even live on what used to be a tree farm, so there's plenty of trees for them.

And yes, I'm thinking you're right on the no plug being a one time thing. That's not something ...»

you'd likely forget a second time. So the rain may not have been a bad thing since the boat could have used a good rinse down inside.
