Wooden Block Snowmen

Even though I'm not even close to being ready for cold weather, I can't resist a cute snowman project. Especially when it's so very easy!
To begin with, I used a circular saw to cut my 2x4 into 12", 8", 6" and 5" pieces. The largest piece is for the base.
I used chalk paint on my snowmen but any acrylic paint will work as well. I painted the base in one color and the smaller blocks white.
Next I painted the faces on each snowman. They're simply done. No artistic talent required, which is good because I am no free-hand painter! :)
I used a stencil on some of the bases to add lettering. To attach the snowmen to the base, I drilled holes in both the base and the bottom of the snowmen and used dowels and wood glue. But I have made these in the past with only wood glue and haven't had any problems with them not holding up. Since I transport them to shows, I thought a quick dowel would be even better.
And finally, I cut some fabric (a thrift store shirt, an old scarf and some cloth napkins) into strips long enough to tie around the blocks for scarves. I used a dab of hot glue to hold them in place where I wanted them.
