Living in a Fixer Upper on Nov 13, 2014Depends how much paint you're trying to work off. If you just want to rough up edges, a steel wool, sponge sander or sandpaper work. If you want more of a "flaky" look to the entire piece, then you can lightly use a scraper. For a "crackled paint" appearance, you can use this old trick: http://homeguides.sfgate.com/cracklepaint-furniture-elmers-glue-91255.html Hope that helps! :)Helpful Reply

Lisa Duenne on Nov 14, 2014Won't help with this piece but next time rub a piece of par ricin or a candle where you want the outer coat to come off. You can also use Vaseline & when outer coat is dry just wipe off with a dry cloth.Helpful Reply
