You could upholstery the piece to match your decor more? If you have a picture of the room you are placing the sofa in that might help others share more ideas.

@Linda Threlkeld you could upholster it in a rustic fabric, you could use chalk paint and paint it the color of your choice too have fun xx

It's a neutral color, so save the expense of reupholstering, update with pillows. I have one like that in a Boho Chic Hippie Chic decorating scheme, and it looks great. Just try it with various pieces. It won't hurt to try. Sometimes you have to walk away and try again later. I'm one that likes to mix different styles and textures.

Upholster in painters drop cloths for a more rustic look.

I would upholster the couch in a "fake leather material on the back, arms and bottom. Then recover the seat cushions with a "rustic/paisley colored material and then add big pillows that matches the color of the cushions"!!!!!!! ~~ I believe that it would be "gorgeous" with the mahogany wood! ~~ Would love to see photos when completed! ~~ Good Luck!

I have a couch like this. I know you can paint the fabric. I just put blankets or a colorful sheet over it and tuck it in.

Don't spend the money to reupholster it. It's in a great neutral color and pattern and putting a non-period/log cabin feeling fabric on it is going to make it stand out like a sore thumb. Instead, use some casual pillows in the colors of the prints. Mixing and matching wood and styles works just keep it in the same color scheme. In my experience, as long as there is one thing grounding the decor then it works. In this case, I would pick the colors for the room from the sofa. It will pull everything together and look gorgeous!

I love the idea of the painter drop cloth. I would also refinish the shine of the wood to a more satiny, worn look. A whitewashed finish would be awesome with the drop cloth and great fun pillows!

I would paint it......you can get fabric paint. Otherwise leave it like it is and put burlap or other rustic pillows and throws on it.

Upholster with forest green velvet. It is what it is, so go with it! Add rustic pillows and you've created your own design. Woodsy-Victorian!

This wood-trimmed Victorian is perfect for a log cabin! If you want more color try slip covering the seat cushions & adding a couple of matching throw pillows. Toss on a cozy throw blanket & voila! Old-fashioned & cozy.

My first thought was this could work. Sometimes there is just too much wood and/or cabin decor. Play around with what you have. Throw/ floor pillows, afghan in neutral design but with color. Add small victorian decor here or there to bring it all together. Mix the 2 styles so it's blends and not heavy toward one style.

By using some soft curtains in the same tones, a few feminine/Victorian nick-nacks around the room it will soften the overall look and give you a beautiful shabby-chic/Victorian/rustic look the will tie in beautifully with it.

On the very day you are asking this question is a post of Victorian houses in Cripple Creek, CO up in the mountains!! But to your couch in a cabin. Why do you ask? Is it an heirloom? Was it a gift you'd feel offended to reject? Is your budget tight and though you want something else this is what you have? Ask yourself to honestly answer these questions. Yes, you can put any couch in any space but usually a Victorian couch will tend to look ornate in a cabin setting. Maybe you want that oxymoron effect! The unexpected! I would not spend $ to change the couch. A Victorian by any other color or paint job is still a Victorian style couch. You can smother it with plaids and cowhide a and pillows ( to cover its elegance??) or let it be its own piece of elegance in a space mostly rustic. Kind of like the parlor rooms which were small--I visited President Truman's birth house and yes! The parlor, the formal room of the home for receiving guests was so tiny!! Look in Restoration Hardware. They have a rather ornate couch out of linen but the coffee tables are rustic! They thought outside the box. Used elegance and rustic together. Might that inspire you to see your couch under new eyes? But I do believe you must go back to the beginning questions. If you are happy with this couch, you will find a way to make it look "right". But if deep down inside, it is not what you wanted to do at all, it will be like all those huge expensive cabins I stayed in in the '70s where the couches just looked like cast offs.

OMG! I saw that sofa and instantly, my mind saw it with glossy black paint and a black and white cowhide print! LUCKY girl, you are!

Just put it in there! As suggested, add some throw pillows, etc to tie it together. Even the pioneers had victorian furniture in their log cabins if they could afford to bring it west with them!

This couch doesn't have to BLEND. Go ahead and make it the central focus with everything else complimenting it. You'll get loads of compliments.

Have it recovered, rustic fabric. Or paint the fabric yourself with water diluted paint. In warm tone or a nice forest green

Just because you live in a log cabin doesn't mean you have to decorate with everything rustic! Same goes for a Southwest home. I think a mix of furniture goes best and if you love that sofa, then get it! As someone else pointed out, the color is a neutral, even if it is a fancy fabric.

I have a log house (genuine antique) and I use anything old. Remember, pioneers brought their most valuable possessions with them when they headed West. They built the rest when they got there.

I love this sofa and Iive in a Cabin! I would love to have it! I like the Rustic Burlap idea or a Woodland Theme Fabric, even Velvet with Rustic Throws and Pillows. Or a Upcycled Quilt! Please show after look when you are done! Smiles, Cyndi

Oh, this could look so good with lace curtains and an victorian type lamp. If you don't want curtains, you could have a side table with lace draped over it to enhance the sofa.

Paint the wood in a low luster black and recover it in red and black buffalo check.
