Not the best photo but I have old claw tub and rust or something stain at end nearest tap and drain. Somewhere along the line previous owners must have put slipless when they redid this 1942 claw tub. Can I do this on my own or should I get professional?
This is my old claw tub. age 1942 yr. Where curtain is is where stain is, hiding it.

There is an epoxy coating made especially for recoating bathtubs. You can get it at a good hardware store. What is slipless?

Linda. I have a vanity full of all sorts of liquids and they have not worked. Maybe it was drugs stain. This house was a drug house before I bought it. City has added sulphur or sulphites to water. Leaves residue on pots used to boil water.

I'd like to know what works also as my tub seems to have lost it's finish by the drain-almost like the paint has chipped off, no rusting, but it looks speckled. Someone said there is a paint sealer one can spray on...ie: tub sealer, but I haven't found that yet...please let me know when you find something . Thx! 😊

I tried Avon SSS bath oil, then Comet, CLR is too smelly for me, and a cupboard under kitchen sink of trials that failed. Only other thing is to get a bath man into refinish. I did try SOS pad too, nothing. Only other if that does not work is call the Culligan man and get that stuff that softens water by pouring special salt in tank. But where to put that.
