anyone know how to "fox" a mirror from the front?

Have huge mirror glued to wall. Want to " fox" it ( make cloudy w/ black marks as if Mercury has worn away. All tutorials so far do this process to back of mirror. Taking off wall not an option, if even possible. Thanks!

What if you sprayed it with glass spray used for etching....then add the black...just an idea! Would practice first!
