DIY Sweater Stockings

Are you thinking about decorating for Christmas yet? This is my first Holiday project so far. It is for our Rock Your Knock Off Holiday Edition Tour, where several of my favorite bloggers and I find high-end (and very over-priced) Holiday items and recreate them for a fraction of the cost.
I decided to make these cozy sweater stockings:
Aren't they cozy? Here is the original version from Anthropologie:
A little bold for my taste, so I decided to tone mine down a bit. As luck would have it, I found all of my sweaters in the Goodwill donation bag in my garage!
Here they are cut into strips. I love all the different textures...
I used dropcloth for the backing. Below is a step-by-step how-to in pictures:

I love how they turned out, and the best part is...they were free!
Of course I had to make one for each of us! Now if only my boys will let me replace their old ones!
I bet you've got a few old sweaters in your closet right now that would make perfect stockings!
