Ideas For Painting Title Floor In Kitchen

Does anyone know how or have experience in painting a tile floor in the kitchen to give it a fresh look that is inexpensive (certainly far less expensive that ripping out tile)

I understood perfectly what you were asking. You didn't say if it was ceramic tile or a vinyl tile but I am a firm believer that you can paint anything. :) That being said, I have no experience in either but they paint porches don't they? So I'd suggest first of all, talk to someone at your paint store, but ask for someone with knowledge, like the manager or owner, about what you want to do and I would check out Pinterest as someone suggested as well. If I were going to do it, this what I might do. Strip all the wax and shine off and clean with TSP or some heavy duty cleaner. Then using a paint and or primer that the proffesionals recomend, try it in a place no one will see, like under your stove or fridge or in a closet. That way if you mess up and I probably would, you can just cover it with a fresh coat and start again. It might be a good idea to use a couple or more colours and blot or sponge them on in layers so if it chips it won't be so noticable, but remember you are under the stove so experiment, have fun, try different ideas, more of one colour, less of another, sponging, smearing, brushing, that kind of thing. You will have a base colour so you can always cover it and try something else. The closest I ever got to this was doing my countertop and it was awesome and lasted really well. The thing to remember is, you may find you love it and go ahead and do the whole floor or you change your mind and just push the stove back over it and forgeddaboutit. :) If you do it and love it, cover with a good protective coat or two, what ever is recomended. Remember please, I have no experience, this is just what I'd do. I wish you luck and have fun.
