Thank you Four Season. I would definitely ship you some planters. They are very bulky and would have to be shipped by common carrier. The 4'x18"x 18"deep planter in the photo weighs approx. 75 to 80 lbs. The smaller planters are 2'x18"x18"deep and are in the 50 lb. range. The planters are constructed of Redwood with a plywood inner shell that is treated with a 100% organic lifetime wood treatment formulated for direct ground contact. I use stainless steel fasteners outside and epoxy coated

deck screws inside. I used a Benjamin Moore ArborCoat translucent stain in a natural tone on the chair and I am in the process of finishing the planters with the same product. They will be sealed with an acrylic clear coat by the same manufacturer. You can e-mail me at tpearson@tandkconstruction.net for pricing and timeline for construction. At the moment I am a one-man gang and I make each piece as ordered.
I don't know how you do it...I lived in the Mesa area for 3 years, and the heat just about killed me. Turning out work like that, and with your quality really is a feat in that desert heat! Nice work!
As my son used to live in Tempe and we owned real estate there for him while he went to school there. They kept telling me its a dry heat when I would come there to visit, Yea, stick your head in an oven. That's a dry heat too!
He moved back east last year and moved in with us. He uses a heater in his bedroom while I am spending money on cooling the house. Go figure.
Thank you everyone! The eight months of Sunny and 70 are the payoff for living in hell four months every year. When was the last time you heard of a natural disaster in the desert? It is definetly a test of your body's cooling system working in the construction field in this valley.
The heat is not too bad if you stay hydrated....we "camped" in July through the entire SW a few years back....lake mead at 118, and yuma at 116...cooler full of cold bevy...and not wearing much clothes helps
Yes LeeAnn redwood is decay and insect resistant much like cedar. You should expect 15-30 years and longer with very little maintenance. A well-built redwood Planter or Chair should be considered an investment with that kind of useful life expectancy. @ KMS WOW camping in Yuma in July! You sure do know how to hydrate. I think the sun at Lake Meade may have clouded your judgement though LOL.
T+ K we were on a "research trip" following the Colorado River from its source to the sea...the first half of the trip in Colorado and Utah were sweet...then is started to get Hot...LOL.
