Cabinets Furniture Revivals Painting Storage & Shelving

Storage space

I bought this at an auction for $5.00 - the outside wood veneer was badly damaged but the inside was in perfect condition.. so i used crackle paint to hide the exterior wood damage and voila! a perfect storage cabinet for all my blankets and fabrics

@ Sharron, wow, it's nice to missed! I've had some busy days and haven't been able to spend much time on Hometalk. I check it but haven't commented much until yesterday. It's funny, when I go somewhere, I can't wait to get back home and check Hometalk and see what's going on, what did I miss! Nice to know someone noticed I hadn't been commenting. Only on Hometalk can you get that kind of attention! That's why we ladies love it. Thanks Sharron!

Donna, Sharron is just schmoozing you! We just figured you didn't like us anymore!!

No, in all seriousness - when someone is MIA it does leave a hole in the conversations so yes, we did miss you, even if we didn't say nuthin'!!!

I wish I could say I've been so busy with projects that I just haven't had computer time but unfortunately, that's not the case! Mostly busy with just "stuff" and out of town for a short time. However, I have been painting our front door and side lights, interior side of it all. I'm painting it the same as the wall color, only in high gloss. It's a tan color, SW Elemental Tan and the trim is SW Dover White. I'm liking the way it looks. Still have some trim to paint and then I will ...»
paint the exterior of everything. Going with high gloss black with white trim and spray painting shutters to white. The exterior door, sides and shutters were blue and have stayed that way in the thirteen years since we built this house. Though blue and white are my faves, it's time to move on to a new look. My husband is painting our fireplace and mantel white. So the two main places that everyone is posting with their pretty Fall decor, are the two places that are sporting blue painter's tape and under construction around here! Sheila, still haven't tried the decoupage pumpkins! I really think yours looks fine. @Susan, yes I figured I was being schmoozed! But it was nice to be by sweet Sharron! One day you didn't respond for about a day and a half and I noticed! Wondered where you were. I always think if certain ones are missing it's because they are creating wonderful things and I'm the lazy one, sitting on the computer, trying to get up the energy to do what everyone else has already done! Sorry, y'all didn't ask for a speech! Should have saved this for Ramblin Roses. Love you guys! Y'all are the sweetest.

I know just what you mean Donna - but it sure sounds like you and your significant other are getting fall sprucing up done. You will share pic w/us won't you?

Actually, I did put some of the inspiration I found on here to good use. I had two pieces of burlap I'd had for ages and finally decided to make a runner for kitchen table and then Sat. & today I worked on a valance for kit. window. I ended up painting a gazillion stripes and used miles of ...»

tape and stood for hours 'n hours and my feet & legs just about fell off!! Gotta heat set the paint 2moro and then put it back on window. Yes, I most definitely will post pics!! OH OH - RR at it again!! We just can't help ourselves can we??? LOL

Well I started packing the kitchen again after my week plus of recuperating from twisting my ankle.....and then I realized...this beautiful weather isn't going to last you better get to the outside chores....SO.....off I went to take care of the area that the storm drain occupies and was overgrown with the stuff my neighbor from Montana keeps planting that are all invasive species....she gets mad cause I cut down whats over the fence but it was literally between the fence boards and ...»
breaking down the fence AND worse it has sprouted all up around the storm drain choaking it off and none of the other three yards at the corner are draining....but they buried drain pipe under the fence and ran it down into the actual drain....Ugh! Anyway it's turned into a mess because we had erected a "segregation fence" when the city changed the "type" of drain because I was afraid my mini doxie would fall down in the drain....and so in the last year the people caty-cornered have taken down their gate across there are were using it for their dogs pooping area although it's my yard...now that I know what's up....I'm taking down my segregation fence because I no longer have a mini doxie to worry about and i want to reclaim my yard from the neighbors and the weeds...so tomorrow I get to build a piece of fencing to close that gap and manage to avoid the ATT Phone Box that is also situated back there...I'd have started today, but it's rained ALL DAY...

Nope, if they didn't like the new fence they didn't say so, and if trumpet vine is sprouting on my side of the fence I have every right to spray it with herbicide....sorry it was connected to hers and it died too but that's why we don't plant that stuff in urban yards..I have some invasive species, and they are all in pots on a concrete pad so they don't take over my yard or anyone elses...LOL But I have reclaimed my yard and it looks pretty good, I still have one my section of fence to ...»
demo and a couple of boards to add to make it look better but other than that all i have left is clean up...I can't believe the stuff people will throw in a storm drain...
