Wood Block Faux Christmas Presents

What can you do with those old spare chunks of wood that you have lying around your garage? Why not turn them into these adorable little faux Christmas presents...quick, easy, cheap, and festive.
Most DIY-ers probably have a lot of spare chunks of wood lying around. We had several 2x4 pieces leftover from a recent window framing job, but I knew they had potential in them and wouldn't let the hubs throw them away or burn them in his efforts to clean up the garage.
These would make adorable little additions to any Christmas vignette in your home. They would look great on a mantel or sideboard, or you could use them underneath a small Christmas tree for decorative presents that will last you from year to year.

I have done something of this nature for years. I put bricks is cardboard boxes of mixed sizes, wrap them with plastic table cloths, seal with packing tape then use plastic ribbon and bows to finish them off. I place them around a lighted Santa in the yard and around lighted porch trees on each side of my entryway. They look fabulous and I've used them for years.

I really like the idea of using them outdoors as decorations. Very creative I must say.
