We had a Apple green tub that didn't go with the pink tile in our bath ( maybe that was just the thing in 1948:) We called a company that puts an electrostatic finish on it...that was 25 years ago and it is still great...no abrasive cleaners though...just spray cleaners You can read how it Is done at their website http://aaaelectrostatic.com/page1.asp

If it's fiberglass you can wax it, and if you have a small handheld orbital/buffer for waxing cars you can use it for the best results.

We just had both of our fiberglass tub/shower/surrounds and our tile floors done by Miracle Method. The results were amazing! The one we used was out of Columbus Ohio, but they are franchised, so Google--you won't be sorry.

Try Gel Gloss. It is in a pink can or a spray can. I have purchased it at Home Depot.

I have an acrylic, and it came with home - and is very cheaply made - right down to it's finish. It grabs everything. I use real lemon and dip in baking soda and clean it - and the faucets, all - makes all the difference, because each time is faster...

Actually, Daniel Pinkerton, car wax can be used on ceramic tiles and cast iron tubs. I've done it many times. It leaves no water spots (like a car), and when it begins to wear out and you begin seeing water spots you can use a small shower squeegee to keep it clean and spot free. Essentially, as long as the wax lasts you don't have to "clean" the tub and surround. The wax does add a bit of a shine to the dull surface. Not like a new tub, but it does look better.

I use turtle wax on my shower, garden tub, and sinks. I just use baking soda for cleaning. You could try lemon Kool aid it will get the ring out of a toilet I am sure it would bust through soap scum, or use a steam cleaner they work great.

I put a couple inches of water in, then put blue original dawn in added baking soda and vinegar and scrubbed, added salt and lemon juice for the faucets and turned out great ... this on a really old tub

@Karen Is your tub porcelain? .. Mine is, and about 40 years old with those rough ovals on the bottom to help you from slipping .. I would love to know how to make it shine like new again

I use seltzer to shine anything chrome. Coke gets rid of rust. I use dry baking soda on tub . Cheaper than cleanser and works better on most everything you want to shine. Pledge really does work for old dull counter tops.

I started using scrubbing bubbles cleaner. Spray on and leave for about 10 minutes, then a bit of rubbing and the scum comes right off, looks brand new. Good luck.

I use Turtle Wax on the tub in my guest bathroom. Depending on use, I repeat this every 4-6 months and the tub looks showroom new.
