5 Ways To Be A Serial Hostess

The holidays are right around the corner, and nothing compares to that feeling you get watching the smiling face of your guests enjoying their stay, knowing that you just gave them the best vacation ever! Here are 5 detailed touches to make your home guest friendly: (A more comprehensive list found on blog below.)
1. Prepare a welcome basket to place on your guest's bed with little details that make them feel at home. Don't forget the children, create a little basket to keep them happy and occupied allowing mom and dad a little extra time to sleep in.
2. Stock "Help Yourself" trays. From beverage trays, to goody carts, to a basket with breakfast items. These are the little indulgences your guest can feel free to grab anytime. While we often say “help yourself” or “make yourself at home”, not all personality types are comfortable going through someone else’s cupboard, this allows the most timid to grab without a hint of guilt or discomfort!
3. Put together a basket of forgotten items: Just in case! And be sure to leave it easily accessible in the bathroom or bedroom so your guests won't have to ask... especially for more "delicate" items.
4. Provide for comfort quirks: Some of these tips are very near to my heart… for example, nothing is worst than being too hot or too cold while visiting a friend, it can really make or break the visit. Think extra blankets, different pillow types, etc. A detailed list found at HomeMadebyCarmona.com
5. Label things! Sometimes your guests may look for certain items but can't find them (where the trash can is located), or wonder what is laid out for them. Take all the guess work out by labels that say "help yourself", or "forget something?", etc.
If you loved those 5 tips, then you'll love my guest corner. This bookcase got more than just a makeover, it serves to organize and store all my guest linens, forgotten toiletries, and more. See more here: http://www.homemadebycarmona.com/my-upstairs-hall-guest-corner/ ‪#‎GuestReady
