A Vintage Dresser Before and After

I found a very beat up dresser and decided to bring it home and give it a makeover. It needed a lot of TLC. I needed to sand it back, glue it in places and add wood filler where needed. I am more than happy with the result.
Here is the before of the chest. It had great lines and is all wood with dovetail drawers. However, a little boy had put baseball stickers all over it, the bottom was split and the top was in bad shape.
Here is the before of the top. Not only was it in bad shape but the top had a piece that had split and needed gluing and resetting with a vice. I also sanded it back before staining it in General Finishes Java Gel Stain.
Here is the after. After sanding back the drawers to smoothness and gluing and shoring up the body, I used General Finishes milk paint in the color Queenstown Gray.
I really love the original wooden drawer pulls. I used the same Java Gel stain on these to tie into the top.
The color of the stained wood and the gray paint complement each other well.
The vintage chest has kept its vintage, farmhouse charm. I'm very happy to have rescued this one :)

A very beautiful piece - I thought the hardware as actually metal - has such a nice sheen to them.
