MYO Rustic Vine Baskets

Tessa Zundel

Every gardener does a good deal of pruning during the fall but there's no need to toss out those prunings. Recycle them into rustic vine baskets and wreaths.
Once you've made a nice sized piles of pliable branches and vines, you can soak them for a bit to soften them up. The kids really like this part...
After you've stripped the leaves and prepared the vines, you begin a simple weaving process that, really, anyone can pick up on with a little practice. If you've never done this sort of this before, please visit our post on homemade wreaths to get some practice with weaving.
