Sweet smelling shrub/tree in bloom.

Does anyone know the name of this wonderful smelling shrub/tree which is blooming here in Canton, GA?

Probably a tea olive. Douglas or Walter will know for sure. A friend was just telling me yesterday about how fragrant hers was.

Ellen, I think you're right. I just looked it up and while the tea olive had different leaves the fragarant tea olive looks exactly like it. Thank so much. We are putting in a bunch of shrubs this fall and I'll be sure to add this to the list.

Oh, this looks lovely. Does anyone know what kind of climate it would have to be in?

Zones 7-9 Mary, I think you are a zone 5b, so probably not.

Osmanthus has a heavenly fragrance and is a great shrub for warmer parts of the country (sorry Mary T).
