Concrete & Masonry Flooring

We have carpet in our bedroom that MUST come out.

My husband and I have trouble with walking on carpet, and we have a condo with a cement floor. I ' am thinking wood any other suggestions. Has anyone used the flooring with a heating system built in?

Have you considered just staining the concrete.

It's a little unusual, but it can look really nice. Also, it's the best medium for radiant heat flooring. I don't have it - yet - but I have a good friend who loves his radiant heat flooring. He lives up in the mountains in Colorado, where it gets plenty cold, but his toes stay toasty.
