When you clean cabinets your cleaning the sealer. If they aren't to bad use dawn dish soap and rinse and dry. If they are really dirty use a degreaser, you have to rinse and dry. The sealer protects the wood, so drying is is as important as washing them.

Dawn dish washing liquid works great. Just be sure you wash, rinse and dry so to speak. There is also a product called wax wash for the most dire wood but normally I only use that if I plan to refinish.

How bad are they ? really bad use tsp and fine steel wool (find it in the painting department )make sure to get all the little bits of steel wool up though as they will rust Then wipe the cupboards off with a dry cloth and use danish oil to refinish the cupboards , rub it in let it dry and then buff to a shine I did this and the cupboards were like new. It will not take the finish off but will very slightly damage the sealer that is why you need to use the danish oil to reseal. Labour intensive but worth it .If not too bad just use tsp and a cloth.

I was told to only use water or 1/2 water & 1/2 vinegar. Many cleaning solutions strip the finish off.
