Looking for ideas on how to refurbish these two side tables

I have two side tables I bought in a pawn shop a while ago, I need to refurbish them, but I'm not very creative, could you lovely ladies help me with some ideas?

What about using pallet boards for new top & bottom shelf, maybe paint white? and wrap bottom w/chicken wire (insert of some sort showcased) or use garden lattice painted to match top?

The top could be painted to look like marble or brown paper bags can be torn in small pieces and decoupaged on the top to give an aged leather effect. Fabric can also be decoupaged to then top surface. Then the legs are painted to match.

They are a very cool shape, with the small space at the bottom for display (jar of shells?) I would sand, prime, and paint it to go with whatever else you have in the room.

@Loretta Clark I like the shells in a jar idea, I want to use them to put brass lamps on, the lamps have cream shades.

Good ideas. I'd use the bottom for those large books that are awkward to put on shelves or a vase with shells, marble collection, etc., or weighted vase with some artificial greenery or such.

@Marion Nesbitt Lol would be great if I had a few books, I have a library collection of them. Maybe the shells or marbles, I love that idea

Try a stone spray paint. Sand it with 80 grit, Prime with primer spray then spray with stone effect spray then clear coat spray. Good luck.

Thank you ladies for the ideas, I love the lattice and marble top ideas, I may lean more toward those but I loved all the ideas, I do have a few jars at home I'm going to use marbles and shells for the bottom section.
