Rescued Cabinet Turned Red Diva

After finding this cabinet I knew it could be saved. It was rough and it took some major belt sanding on the top to get rid of years of abuse, but in the end it was worth it. A true DIVA was born. You won't believe the difference!
Hello again my beauties! It's Themed Furniture Makeover day here with the DIY furniture girls. This months Theme was red, and did I have the perfect piece for it!
I rescued this sweet little cabinet and I knew that after everything that this cabinet must have been through that it deserved to be diva red.
You can see from the top, she had a bit of a rough life. Someone had a good time grooving graphiti into her. I used stripper twice on the top to get some of the old finish off, but even after that she required the belt sander. I had to take it down pretty good to get all of the gouges out, but I knew she would be worth it. To see the full transformation head on over to the blog.

A total transformation. Don't forget to head over to the blog and see all the other friends working on their themed furniture makeover. SO much goodness in one place.

What did you do to have to prime the rest of it before you painted the red color on?

I'm about to stencil a table I painted with chalk paint. Should I wax table first before I stencil? Or do I stencil it first? I feel like I should wax first, but don't want to do that if the stenciling won't adhere well.
