Help have an ugly old bathroom mirror the kind that clips on the wall. No frame. Hideous. Any ideas?

I had a similar mirror in a bathroom, I used Plaid's Gallery Glass to make an awesome "frame" around the mirror. It hid all the little imperfections along the sides. I used clear and etching glass but you can also use colors to match your decor.

If you have never used window paint this shows just how easy it is. I will check and see if I have a picture of my old bathroom mirror

I framed ours in crown moulding stained to match the cabinetry. Glued the frame directly to the glass with mirror adhesive. It looks amazing!

Get another mirror from Kohls or your hardware store like Lowes. Or search for one at garage sales, goodwill, or salvation army stores. You can always change frames or by removing them or just paint them. The bathroom at my Mom's house goes all the way to the edges top to bottom so its a wall of mirror and then on the opposite wall she has rectangles of beveled glass that cover the whole opposite wall .its beautiful with champagne colored carpet.

You can buy mirror frame kits online from Home Depot in various styles. The strips are glued directly to the mirror on the wall.

I say, if it's attached by clips, carefully un-clip it and remove it. Then you are free to hang a different mirror. One other thought. If you choose to go the frame route, don't forget to continue the paint or stain color onto the backside of the frame that is toward the mirror. I did that and the reflected unpainted bit behind the frame edge glared at me like a strip of neon light until the day I replaced everything!

There are places to get a custom size frame like mirrormate.com or framemymirror.com (or diy with molding) but it may be cheaper to take down and replace with any wall mirror (got one for my daughter at thrift store for $15 in a six wood frame!) Mine had tiles that were cut in half, likely to fit a medicine cabinet prior. But I found one that covered those perfectly for around $30. For a thrifty fix, pick up an old picture frame (paint), then wrap the mat in a coordinating piece of fabric, or wallpaper, line with beads, ribbon etc. the mirror can be cleaned by simply lifting off the frame. Decorate poster paper with washi tape. Go for an industrial look and frame with large chain from the hardware store. You can even cut paper towel rolls down, spray paint & glue to colored poster board. Lastly, how about framing with a border of chalkboard paint (incl the clips-they'll blend right in) Leave positive messages & reminder notes! It depends on your taste and budget but I think you're really only limited by your imagination. Good luck and post a pic for us.'

I took an oval mirror from the bathroom and removed old paint and stained it and put it on an old sewing machine, I mean the old fashion singer and made a nice table

If you don't want to use it for that anymore, use it as a table topper for a round table with a skirt under it. It would reflect candlelight beautifully!

There are more modern clips you can get at Home Depot, etc. to replace those plastic deals. Good ideas above.
