    Does it have a drop lid compartment? If so, it might make a good office center.

    I saw something similar in a shop in France and it had been painted white and a had cracked effect on it. Looked really nice

    Paint it the color of your choice and add some type of technique to the back of the open shelving.... paint it a different color, stencil, wallpaper, decoupage... something for an accent and an added design element.

    The colour is peculiar - I would change it. Like the idea of a mirror, and a different colour for interior.

    I put mirrors in built-in's for a client years ago.... their room was so dark and had all oak cabinetry.... it really helped to brighten up the space.

    I would like to see it painted off-white with some of the brown peaking through. I would also like to see less collectibles on the shelves so your eyes aren't overwhelmed and you can better appreciate them. I love the structure of this piece!

    I have a hutch that I was painting espresso brown, (It was hunter's green before). And the back of the hutch came off easily, and I thought of wallpapering the back or stenciling the back that would be seen behind the shelves. This is a nice piece.
