Are the vegetables harmed by painting garden boxes?
We grow most of our vegetables in Central Florida, in raised wooden garden boxes. With all the dampness and vegetation the wood is starting to deteriorate. Could I safely paint the outsides of the boxes and not harm what I am growing to eat? Thanks in advance for any advice you might give me.

The Oregon State Extension Service recommends painting the exterior of raised beds with exterior latex. See: http://www.oregonlive.com/hg/index.ssf/2013/04/raised_bed_gardening_osu_exten.html
