How to repair hollow doors?

Are there any ways to repair hollow doors instead of replacing them? One has a small hole. Another has part of the veneer off of it.

I've done it by patching it with various things like drywall putty, plastic wood, spackling and it turned out well. Just need to sand it when it's dry and then seal it before painting or it'll bleed through.

Adrianne nailed it. Assuming that the doors don't have that faux "wood" texture, any super-hard non-shrinking drywall filler or plastic filler would work. Sand, prime, and paint the entire door. The door that has some veneer missing might be a little more difficult to deal with because it's such a thin layer. In that case I would use Bondo... automotive body filler. It doesn't shrink at all, and works well in difficult areas.

I had a large hole so I glued a piece of wood inside the hole first to prevent my patching material from falling in. It worked great.
