Method to hang on drywall

I want to hang an object about 8 pounds. My husband will not since there is not a stud to hang it on. Unfortunately, the center is drywall. Will a molly work? Any suggestions?

Use Hercules hooks. They work great in dry wall.

@Philip Lewis That should work. I know they don't work for my walls though...they're like plaster or something

You could add a strip of trim secured to the studs and attach it to that.

Monkey hooks are great and will hold much heavier objects than 8 pounds and leave only a small hole

I dont know what the object is or the asthetics...but painting a 1x4 fo match the wall and securing the board to the wall stud to stud and then mounting the object to the board would work....or cut out some drywall install wood blocking w Stud to stud, repair and mount
