etched sidewalk

I have two sidewalks, each were poured concrete. The mason sprinkled a brick colored powder over the entire surface and then etched it to look like stone with grout. Now, after 12 years, the powder is disappearing and the concrete looks awful. Is there something I can do to make it look attractive?

You could re-coat with an overly product...can you post a pic so we can see how extensive the damage is?
  • Once the powder stain begins to wear off, your left with three options. The least desirable one is to simply paint the cement. The next which would be the better option is to stain the cement so it will last again for many years. And lastly remove and replace. There has been several postings on HT about concrete staining. Simply search it at the top of the page.

try green and brown stains to make it look old, mossy, just dab the affected areas, but let some white still show, Then clear coat it all. I like the old natural look. What you have is not that bad, and could look awesome with some faux moss treatment. keep us posted.
