Granite not in the budget so I did the next best thing

Granite counter tops in our guest bathroom just are not in the family budget right now. You know how that goes right? Two active kids, one in sports one in band any extra goes to them first. But what I could afford is some paint, so that is what we did and we are thrilled! http://wp.me/p2iskJ-1S8 details and full revealIt has been almost one year since we did this project and they are holding up excellent.

Does this work over laminate ??

I see not in the sink itself. Guess it won't hold up to water. I marbled a dressing table once with just paint and lots of poliurathan. It worked very well so I also did the bathroom floor, but those places don't get that much water. Sure would like to do my bathroom counter top AND the sink. Has anyone tried a sink?

I know it can be done on laminate, not sure about butcher block. You can go to their facebook page and ask them. They are excellent in communicating.

Do not believe it would hold up in the sink itself..it can take water of course but I don't think the constant running would be good.

Of course you would not do this inside of the sink. If you were installing real granite the inside of the sink woul not be granite.

Remember the patina of something old is very valuable. Butcher block would be an ex., That is why the shabby Chic is so much in style. It's very French!

do you sand between applying the pollyurethane ?

Yes, there is a light sanding technique in between. This was NOT a mess product either. I have seen some of these painting kits that there is mess all over. NOT much clean up with this.
