Our cat went to the bathroom on some magazines in a wicker basket in our bathroom. That was fine until I lifted the basket and there is a black almost burnt mark on the floor.
Any suggestions? I already tryed spray bleach cleaner, and it didnt even fade it. Thank you

If you have tried commercial or industrial bleach and that didn't work, you may have to replace the boards.

There is a wood bleach you use. You will have to sand the poly or sealer off and follow the directions on wood bleach. Then seal it. You can only do the areas you have spots. Hope that helps a little.
  • From my experience, you will most likely have to replace that part of the floor. The previous owners of our home had animals that did their business on the hardwoods and I tried everything. The black on top is most likely all the way through the wood. once the urine ate through the sealer/poly then the wood absorbed the odor. Sounds like the cat did this for a length of time. sorry for the bad news.
