My home office needed a lift. I spent a weekend painting and reorganising it into a glam space to use with a Parisian theme.
Here it is... Cluttered and tired and in need of a makeover. It had a laminate bookcase and bench top in different wood tones that have always bugged me.
I started by painting the back wall in chalkboard paint. I primed the bookcase with sealer undercoat and then painted it in a flat Dulux Antique White U.SA. I then gave it two coats with a clear water based flat polyurethane.
Next job to tackle was the bench top.
I used a flat Dulux Antique White U.SA on the benchtop. I painted it on and them rubbed it back. I then gave it two coats with a clear water based flat polyurethane.
I rearranged my "treasures".
More "treasures"
I spray painted a silver stand in a flat white.
The chalk board gives a dramatic finish to the room and looks great day and night.
I had this old chest in the office that I store paperwork in and it doubles as a seating I primed the chest with sealer undercoat then a flat Dulux Antique White U.SA which I sanded right back. I then gave it two coats with a clear water based flat polyurethane.
Looks a lot better now.
Total makeover cost came in at less than $50.00.
