Salvaged Jenny Lind Style Bed

If you love The Land of Nod, you have to see what we did with this salvage yard find!
The Land of Nod has a fabulous black Jenny Lind bed right now. I love it. LOVE. IT. But, it's six hundred dollars...yeouch,.. Luckily, I happened across an old worn out version at a salvage yard for thirty dollars.
My husband fashioned slats and new rails (from more salvaged wood) and I sanded and painted the whole thing with Valspar satin black spray paint.

Once we moved the bed in, we added a reading light and a place for our child's art. I made the pillow from two Turkish style kitchen towels and the duvet cover is from IKEA.

Love this bed. Growing up I had a full size bed just like this one. It was clearly really old and none too sturdy. But I always liked it. Nice looking room.

Don't you just love recycling, it makes so much more sense. Great job.
