Anybody know if haybales will mold or anything special I do to make sure they last the season? They are under a covered porch but I'm not sure if I should rotate them or do anything to make sure they don't get "yuck" by Thanksgiving.
Melissa, Hay bales will mold if they get wet. If even one of the bales gets mold, it can easily spread to other bales. I would definitely move them to a dry area or make sure they are covered (even the bottom ones.)
Thanks so much for the info Terri J I rotated them around yesterday and will be sure not to put any plants on top that might leak water. I definitely don't want them to mold before Thanksgiving!
Redheadcandecorate.com I have been a little worried about the deer this year too-we just moved to a new home and I know they've been up in the backyard but none have come around front yet!
I had Indian corn out w/ my decorations and the buggers grabbed them and ate all of the corn, but left the cob. It was actually pretty funny. Kind of like when Santa leaves his crumbs! I brought the 1 that they didn't eat inside and saved it. I ended up putting the big husks out at our mailbox and they were having a field day. Try that...maybe they will stay away from the house area :)
