Drinking Straw Garland

Wanna cheap and simple way to make an interesting Christmas garland? Materials required... drinking straws. Anything from the cheap plastic to the fancier paper. Easy peasy. Cut your straws into 2-3 inch lengths and then string them with a needle and thread. They're light and whimsical and will hold up over time. The perfect holiday craft!
I've made a couple different types... this one I alternated red with the stripes for a candy cane look.
Any sewing needle will do... a smaller needle is probably easier, but any should do the trick.
Just string your straws until your garland is the desired length! I like 4-6 feet since anything longer gets tangled and anything shorter just looks funny draped on the tree.
My favorite is the one I made with these clear straws... it disappears into the tree a bit more and picks up the Christmas lights in a lovely way at night.
A fuzzy instagram pic of the finished product last year.
