Jadar, just noticed that lampshade!!! Beautiful! Did you do it? I saved decorative stamps at work for a long time and pasted them onto a lampshade! It was stunning! It finally just dried out and gave way so I pitched it! I wish now I had saved a bunch of the stamps I collected for so long because almost everyone is using tape instead of stamps!
Heavy lacquer. there are kits available where one coat is as thick as 50 lacquer coats. It also fills in holes. You know those shuny tree stump clocks? That's what this stuff is. You may have to glue the corks onto a thin board, lacquer it, THEN attach it to the wall if you are worried about cleanability. Love the tiki backsplash look!
Hey everyone! So glad you loved my cork backsplash. The first most important thing is you can seal it. Like Stephanie mentioned about the kits you can buy. You can seal with a resin or polyurethane. I chose to not seal mine because I wanted to post things on the corks daily. They really don't get dirty but the good thing about hot gluing them is you can replace them without damaging every other one. I hope this helps. I do spray them with lysol :)
Jeanette, I did do this lamp shade. If you go my website www.jaderbomb.com you can find it there. It will be listed under paint sample lampshade. You should post a picture of the one you did!
Donna, You are right! It's a lot of fun!
Marg, Glad you <3 it!
