Finally, finally finished my tire ottoman!

I followed the instructions for this ottoman off of thatwasawhat.blogspot.com when I first saw this on pinterest over a month ago. I am so in love with this thing. It took a while for me to get it done, but it was worth the effort and burns from the hot glue gun. Thanks Nikki and good luck on the opening of your new store. I can't wait to check it out!

You did a FABULOUS job! It looks store bought, really! So, I assuming it's 2 tires. How do you keep it together? I must look for instructions, & I think I will share your genius!

You really don't need directions...Who would pay for directions for something this simple anyway? It is pretty self explanitory...I think

Vilma Rivers if you really want the directions then it would probably be a good idea to purchase them unless someone here has them tucked away somewhere and will share. In her directions, she tells you that you will need wood for the top, and how to attach the feet at the bottom so it's firm and steady. give it a go.

I could do this and help neighbors get the junk out of their yards and have something cool!

I made one too only mine is from a polyester rope that is blue. Didn't use a hot gun instead used some of my husbands automotive adhesive. Depends on the size of tire but it took me 320 feet of rope. Have had lots of comments about it. Everyone thinks it is pretty cool.

Aimee N it actually has held up great! my one year old picks and pulls on it and my husband stepped on it the other day. it just flexed and bounced right back without cracking any of the rope off! I did wrap mine in fabric first though, before gluing the rope so it would have more to grab onto. Super glue is a little brittle (and smelly) so I used hot glue instead.

Hi Phyllis, the directions in the Ebook are the same that were on the blog. It's on Lulu and Amazon. The Ebooks have distribution rights so you have to download a free version of Adobe to open them. I only put the rights on the books because I've had a few people comment on public sites that they were going to sell my idea (figured I might as well beat them to it). If you decide to get the book and have any issues, just send me a message here and I'll email them to you. Of the books I've ...»
sold, I've only heard from 3 people having problems downloading (or not wanting to download). Good luck with your ottoman if you decide to make one. I know you'll love it! Share pics if you make one!
