  • Herringbone treatment on vintage dresser. I used ASCP Old White and homemade blue chalk paint to give this dresser a bit of style.
  • I love the contrast of the blue and white with little bits of stained wood showing through!
  • The original hardware was left on to give it a more authentic look.
  • I love little details in pieces like this. You just don't see much of that in new furniture these days.

My Beach Front is done!

I still have a few things to do but I'm done, due to our weather.

UP-DATE: I am very excited that "hometalk" posted my beach on their Facebook page! I ...»

just want to clarify something, in case I didn't make it clear here. I had a horrible time getting anything to grow there other than weeds! I put down plastic and then bags of coquina shells. I will look for a picture but you can see the process on multiple posts on my blog. I did not and wouldn't create a litter box. But what do we do here in Florida, living on sand?! Enjoy!

What is the bird bath made from? It looks like wood to me.

Stenciled Tables

Recently I've stenciled a couple of dining room tables that have been fairly popular, so I thought I would share them with y'all! They are done so that the wood shows through the stencil ...»

  • Started with a well used plastic patio table and spray-painted it white 1
  • A little color on the legs
  • I cut cardboard circles in two sizes and used 4 colors
  • Almost finished. All put together but not done yet.
  • I let my daughter and two nephews put handprints on it.
  • I outlined the circles in black to help them pop a little and painted the kids names on their hands.
  • I'm not going to worry about the paint job being perfect. There are smudges and places where the circles aren't completely colored in, but heck that's what gives the table character. Next up will be the chairs.

Refurbished plastic patio table

I've painted this table so many times. Then after seeing so many beautiful upgrades on this site using bright colors, I got this idea. I drew up several patterns and decided that the circles would look great.

Woodland Themed Nursery

Even though we knew we were having a girl, I was terrified that the ultrasound tech had it wrong and that we were having a boy. My irrational fear led me chose a nursery theme that was gender neutral - just in case! The result was a woodland themed nursery, which has turned into my favourite room in our house.
