Home Maintenance & Repairs: Our house in the Conway area has a termite bond (built in 1986, wood-frame, single family home).

I've noticed some type of activity in my dining room along an exterior wall, evidenced by a build-up of dirt and material from under my baseboards. I've taken photos and samples of the ...»
build up, and I'm preparing to call my termite bond company to have them take a look.

Has anyone been through this process before? Our termite bond does cover repairs, and if this IS termites, I thought I'd first ask the community for any tips in dealing with the pest companies in order to make sure I ask the right questions or say the right things.

Thanks for your help.

  • unknown plant

We are growing this plant which I purchased at Lowe's this spring.

I have no idea what it is and what to do with it. It is a vegetable and looks like tiny green beans on it. Please help me identify this so I can eat it!

Design & Décor: Should your baseboards and the frames around your doors always be the same size in width?

I like to settle on a style (Craftsman, Arts & Crafts, Victorian, etc) and stick with it so ...»
    there's continuity in the home.

  • Storage mockup

Design & Décor: My master bedroom has one of those 1980's style display ledges (85" long x 24" deep) above the walk-in closet.

I'm getting ready to build a storage cabinet in that space in an Arts & Crafts/Cottage style. What is the best way to trim the transition between the bottom of the cabinet and the drywall below? A cove edge or a slightly proud cabinet lip? I'd love some feedback.

DIY Projects: I'm considering a push reel mower, Does anyone know where I can try one out before I buy?

Thanks James and Meridan. I do have a tiny yard (I reduced the amount of sod by 50% in a ...»
recent landscape redesign), so I like the idea of not having to maintain and store a gas lawn mower in my garage. I'll take a look at Ace.
