Do you have ideas for all kinds of empty baskets?

I have several baskets hanging around the house. Do you have ideas for those? All shapes: squares, rectangles, rounds. I also collect sea shells if that helps any. Thank you.

I also have a lot of baskets around the house mostly, Longaberger Baskets of all shapes and sizes. I utilize my baskets for the bathroom, my makeup, hair stuff, small towels rolled up for easy to grab, floral arrangements, magazines, sewing needs, crocheting, yarns and needles, books, cookbooks. I use the baskets in all rooms in my home. I don't have any trouble filling them up with all kinds of things in my home for convenience, and organization. I hope this helps, have fun with it. Let me know if you come up with any ideas that I haven't done yet.

If your baskets are collectables like Sharon's do as she said, but if they are ordinary and big enough, you can use them for Christmas gifts. Either do fresh fruit baskets, packed with packets of tea, coffee and a couple of mugs. Add the sort of candy that has shiny paper (Werthers?) to fill any gaps. Cover with shrink wrap and tie a ribbon and some pine cones. Better still, one I invented when working a a farm store. A veg' basket. Chose the best specimens of veg', just a few of each, potatoes, nice and round and cleaned (Of course, all should be cleaned) try to find carrots, radishes etc. with the greens still on and smooth mushrooms, big enough to show up with the other stuff. Obviously, you will have to make this one the day you deliver it, and I would add a block of cheddar and a wedge of Brie, maybe a pack of crackers. You can also make a basket with wines, cheeses, crackers and glasses, and maybe After Eight Mints, or Starlights, which are the festive colours.

I use baskets for storage throughout my home and my travel trailer. I also use them to make gift baskets - fruit baskets, housewarming gifts, baby gifts, etc. Use them to display your shell collection or decorate the baskets by gluing shells onto them. Hold towels in the bath, shoes at the front door, small baskets to catch small clutter like keys, etc on an entry table, magazines, fire wood by your fireplace, hanging from the ceiling or on top of a cabinet filled with fragrant herbs and dried flowers. Do a search on Hometalk and Pinterest for uses for baskets.

I was traveling with my mother this summer and saw baskets that had been made into a three tier standing display using a cane as the centerpiece, cutest thing I ever saw. you could do something similar with any type of wood and any size (that works for your baskets). The other thought, what about some type of mosaic work inside the baskets with the seashells and hang them like artwork? Sorry I didn't see this sooner. Maybe I'll think of something else in time.

Mine are dual purpose...I have a display of them in the space above my cabinets, and pull them down as needed for bread baskets, flowers, catchalls, gift baskets, etc. They are pretty grouped together, and I have just the ones I need right in sight.

For a bridal shower, I gathered up many unused baskets in my house. Then the bridesmaids and I made centerpiece baskets, each with a theme. They were lovely, creative and the guests loved them when we gave them away at the end of the shower! On a smaller scale, I use baskets for holding any and every thing around the house. I even have a basket on the back of the toilet in the bathroom that holds all the miscellany that gathers in that area. If you want to, there are several great tutorials on Hometalk how to spruce up a basket!
