Before and After (Kitchen Floor Tutorial)
Me and my two friends from Malawi tackle the kitchen floor. Took out most of the furniture and cleaned it with tile cleaner and hot water.
Faux tile tutorial
Masking tape is being lined up in a tile pattern to later, after painting the whole floor and and removal of tape, represent the grout lines.
Lloyd and Rex design the floor plan. I want large 'tiles' so the whole operation does not take more than the Sunday we have allocated;
The masking tape is in place. We use a light terracotta acrylic roof paint, to bring in the grand illusion of the Kalahari desert.
The paint is applied over the masking tape with paint rollers (took 1 hour)
Et voila, the main job of painting is finished. And now we wait 3 hours for the paint to dry sufficiently to step on it and DRUMROLL...we carefully pull up the masking tape.
