My in-laws have totally been holding out on me. While wondering through their garage a few weeks ago, I stumbled upon my father-in-law's old army chest. Just sitting there. Waiting to be made into something awesome.
chest locker
The locker has seen many different "styles" through the years. This is how it looked when I got it. It was also once adorned with paisley fabric from my father-in-law's hippie days.
They thought it would make a great toy chest for my kiddo while she was at their house. They were so right. After sanding and priming it, I gave it a chalkboard top and painted the sides green.
I also added a little "L" at the corner - because everything is better with a monogram.
To do the makeover, I used my new HomeRight Finish Max Pro Paint Sprayer -y'all I can't even tell you how awesome it is. You can enter to win one on my blog right now.

@Asou For this piece, I used chalkboard patin on top and regular satin latex on the rest of it. With the exception of the chalkboard top, I gave the whole piece a top coat of polycrylic.
