Rustic Pallet Picture Frames

Cutting up pallets and turning them into custom home decor has been the norm around my house. Recently, I decided I wanted to hang a couple pictures of my kids in my dining room and thought what better way to display their pictures than in rustic pallet frames.
I started by using the circular saw to cut a pallet apart and into 8 even pieces.
I used a scrap piece of luan for the back support and glued the pallet boards to the luan then secured them with screws.
After staining the boards and letting them dry, I designed and cut out 8 custom shapes from sheet metal. Then drilled 5 holes in each piece and spray painted them with ORB spray paint.
After everything was dry, I laid a piece of plexiglass over the pictures and attached everything with the custom plates.
Not bad for $7.00 worth of plexiglass!

I absolutely love your corners idea for the picture! Do you think using leather instead of sheet metal would work? Its for a Christmas theme, and I am wanting to change the "santa picture" every year.
