Chalk paint cracking

Help!!! This is my first time using chalk paint and it looks like it's cracking... what did I do wrong and how can I fix it?

    Thank you! I used the chalk paint from home depot... I have painted the frame of an old mirror and the whole thing looks like it's cracking... I'll try the kilz idea... thank you!!

      Mine is doing the exact same thing and my chalk paint also came from Home Depot. I really hate to start over again with Kilz but may have to.

    It's drying at an un even time, it's usually due to the temperature in the sir being different

      I used Annie Sloan and it is craclkling one drawer, but not the rest if the piece. The only difference is that I didn’t like the color on the drawer after I waxed it, so I used a different color, but I don’t see why that would make a difference

    When I bought Annie Sloan's chalk paint, they encouraged me to clean it first with low odor mineral spirits to get rid of any crud on the finish. Then, start with the paint and I have never had any problems. And the drying temp may be a factor, I agree.

    I also used Home Depot chalk paint on a child's chair and the whole thing is crackle like I used crackle paint!!!
