What paint color would you recommend for the dresser and nightstand?

I'm ecstatic to finally have a guest bedroom! The walls are painted, I made the headboard and draperies, gave the lamps a DIY makeover, and now I need to paint the dresser and nightstand. Right now they're painted black and chipped all over, and they look really bad. But what color paint would you use? 
 Right now I'm leaning toward white on the nightstand and a bold red-orange on the dresser. Is that too crazy... or just crazy enough to work? 
 Thanks in advance for any suggestions you have. I apologize for the less than ideal photos. The room isn't very large, and it's difficult to photograph the entire room at once.

I would pick a bright color from the curtains to give the room a pop of color. I see orange, a lime green and turquoise colors in the pictures.

Hi! Since this is a guest bedroom, you want it to be inviting and restful. Although the red sounds like fun, that's a lot combined with the pink walls. You could always add the pops of red for pillows so you can change them as desired. Since you already have a sage green headboard, you could go in that direction or that teal blue that is also in the curtains. Just an FYI about red...no matter what type of paint you choose...it is difficult to get a perfectly even color finish and requires multiple coats of paint!

There is so much love in the room already I think whatever you do will look great!!!!! But I agree with the comment above ....the red orange would be to much with pink walls. Choosing the green color would compliment the walls.....then bring in the other colors in the small accents around the room......Love the curtains by the way!!!!

One idea could be to decoupage the dresser. There are tons of ways you could incorporate any and all colors into it. You could use paper or fabric as well. Here is a picture to give an idea of what I am referring to. You have done a great job so far, be sure to show us what you do!

I saw your curtain fabric in a store and I think it is great! I would go for shiny Chinese Red, like the curtains, with bright brass trim and handles if you can find it. You might go to an Asian import store to get ideas.

I'm not sure walls are really pink or if that's the photo; I see pale beige. However, I like the idea of orange-red accents, maybe paint dressers gray w/red drawers or vice-versa.

Why not use leftover fabric on the front of the nightstands? I would say go bold on the nightstands ans use leftover fabric, if you have any on the drawer fronts. The use a softer shade in the same color family on the dresser. While I love color I know some of my guests feel like I'm leaving them in a fun house. LOL! Love the colors You've chosen!

Hugely popular in UK is a dove grey for walls and then using bright colours as accents like for the side tables. It would work with your curtains and make the room seem cosy.

My favourite 'go to' is Benjamin Moore on-line gallery to identify the colour closest to wall colour and look at their co ordinating and contrasting combinations lower on the page. http://www.benjaminmoore.com/en-ca/for-your-home/colour-gallery#&ce_vm=0 If one of those colours is also in the drapes it's a confirmation. Choose bright colours for easy change out accessories like basket for sample size toiletries [lotion,travel sz toothbrush, mouthwash, t/paste, floss, conditioner], alarm clock, Kleenex, easy, no sew covers for throw pillows.

Have you checked what is under the paint? I might be tempted to strip and stain them one of the darker browns in the curtains. I'd use the rust/tred/orange in the curtains as an accent colour - lamp base, cushions, etc.

I would definitely paint it black. That is what I did with most of my second hand furniture. It looks sophisticated and for minor chips use a black magic marker

Taking in to consideration the size of the room, I would go with the yellow/green color in the curtains for the furniture pieces you are painting. (paint the dresser and night stand the same colors.) I feel red could be to overpowering in the small space for the furniture, but would be great to bring in the red, orange and green in the accessories (wall art, pillows, throw blanket etc.). I love the drapes by the way, awesome pick!!! Good luck with your decision. Remember you can always paint over it if you don't like it. :)

I might want to take the bottom 2 drawers out so if you use the busy curtain fabric it would not appear too 'busy'...

The drapery fabric is Oriental, I think before changing the color of the dresser and night stands I would change the lamps to a bold color from the fabric and use a taller lamp. Maybe do a real nice runner on that dresser with accessories.

I love your drapery fabric I like the green for the furniture. It looks olive/avocado shade to me. If you feel like that is too much like an Easter egg, then make the drawer fronts a darker shade. I would use a lot of that red with your black for accent colors. That being said if you like the red use it for the furniture. My bedroom furniture has been black for a long time. I am painting it aqua with yellow walls. It small, its colorful and I like it...sunshine and sky :)

Because the fabric is oriental I would go with the red for the furniture and lacquer it.  The lamp could be a little taller with a green shade.

You could do anything you want, but I think I would tend to leave them the colour they are BUT change the handles to match in with curtains (one colour or many colours) Your choice.Plus paint or change the colour of your lamp shades to match in too.
