What could preschoolers do to decorate cheap fuzzy xmas stockings?

I have a ton of those cheap, fuzzy red Christmas stockings. Is there any type of craft that preschoolers could do with these stockings? I'm in charge of planning the craft for my son's preschool class, and I'm out of ideas!

There are tubs of peel and stick shapes at Walmart and craft stores. Quite reasonable.

GLITTER! Some folks fear glitter...I say embrace it! And more than that, just have fun. Markers and stickers could be fun too.

Glue on bits of ribbon, buttons and finish with glitter glue. Or maybe you just do their name in glitter glue. You could get those tiny ornaments for mini trees and glue them on.

take a picture of the child and glue it on, then have them continue the decorations. Depending on the age group Michaels has bags of precut foam shapes they can glue. I have found that glitter gets way to messy.

Precut shapes to glue on would be the easiest.
