I'd love to get a couple of Moroccan poufs for my living rm...Good or bad idea?

Z on Oct 10, 2012I think your living room looks lovely just as it is. Very warm and welcoming with a great mix of textures and colors. Do you need the poufs as extra seating? (I commented on a couple of the pictures too.)Helpful Reply

Valerie H on Oct 10, 2012Thanks, Becky! We kind of do because my daughter is a teen and has a lot of friends over to our place, plus, I want to do more entertaining. It would be great if I had room for a console to slide them under, but no room for that since we have a lot of windows.Helpful Reply

Z on Oct 10, 2012Ah I remember those days with teens everywhere. Ours are both pushing 30 now. Heck one just turned 30th this summer! Yikes, time sure gets away from ya. I like the idea the the poufs and think if they weren't too over sized they'd look great in your room.Helpful Reply

Valerie H on Oct 10, 2012We're kind of in divided worlds: One 14, and the others 23 and 26. And we just found out we're about to be grandparents (the 26 yr. old)! I'm SO happy!Helpful Reply

Z on Oct 10, 2012Congratulations Valerie. Our daughter is also expecting her first baby. She and hubby live in Hawaii so we're planning a trip in hopes of being there when the baby arrives. We have a four, almost five, year old grandson by our son.Helpful Reply

Gail Salminen on Oct 10, 2012Nice job @Valerie H What you may want to do is purchase, new or used, one poof to see how it works and how it will be used and who will be using them. People in their 50's may not be inclined to sit on this item. I noticed looking at the pics that you were also questioning if the bookshelf/paneling should be painted. Depends on your tastes. If you are trying to modernize and blend you may want to consider tones in the fireplace for the colouring. Would love to see what you decide and pics. Good luck, and it really is a comfortable inviting room as is. :)Helpful Reply

Valerie H on Oct 10, 2012Thanks, @Gail Salminen! I really guess I hadn't thought about older people (like me!) sitting on the poufs. But they look so COOL! Still pondering the painting vs. restoring to MCM status on the paneling.Helpful Reply

Valerie H on Oct 14, 2012I guess I'm wondering about using a sisal rug underneath the persian and extending it closer to the fireplace. Would that make "poufs" more user friendly?Helpful Reply
