Being a single Mom for many years, I saved coffee cans to put cookies in them. (the snow ball kind find beautifully) My son and I would spay paint them white, stick glitter on them, glue little Christmas decorations on the can, like candy canes, reindeer, Santa's, etc. We'd cover the lid with aluminum foil, after poking two holes in the plastic lid. We'd then bend a Christmas colored bottle brush through the two holes, to make a hand. It's a gift made from love and the goodies are such a treat. I made brownies one year. Make sure you put a layer of waxed paper or plastic wrap in the can before putting in the goodies. Easy and fun!

Coffee cans, coffee tubs and the larger Coffeemate canisters are always good for storing dry goods in . We go through a LOT of Maxwell House coffee and more Coffeemate than that so we always have a load of them around. I purchase my flour, sugar, cornmeal, pasta, and other dry ingredients in larger quantities so I always have a place to store them. They are also the best size for a ball of yarn if you crochet. Poke a good size hole in the lid and insert the yarn in the canister. Thread the yarn through the hole in lid and snap it back on.You never have a tangled mess of yarn again !
